You can install Gnome 3 in ubuntu.
step 1)open terminal ctrl+alt+t
step 2) sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3 (enter you passwd)
step 3) sudo apt-get update
step 4) sudo apt-get install gnome-shell
logout and relogin with changed session. or reboot
